Wiping the drying blood from his upper lip, Mias actually found himself smiling, even though the little wretch had made him bleed. As infuriating as that rather painful blow to the face may have been, her reactions had told him exactly what he had wanted to know.

Eyebrows raised, he enjoyed re-experiencing it all over again in his head. Ah, how delectable her whimpers and moans had been, and he had caused every single one of them. He wanted to hear those wonderful sounds and see her gorgeous face contort into expressions of pleasure.

His laugh echoed through the halls. As far as he was concerned, he had won.

That egomaniacal bastard.

Elle could hear Mias' obnoxious laughter penetrating the walls, and it shook her from her daze. Staring at the lightly formed bruise directly between her eyes in the mirror, she massaged her temple to ease the steady hammering inside. As sore as her head was, she enjoyed the rush of adrenaline and empowerment she felt for defending herself. Head injury and molestation aside, it was a rather exciting evening. She would not give Mias the satisfaction of knowing that, but it felt… good.

"I can't believe this. That sick-" She touched the bruise with a wince, "manipulative jerk. With his cocky smile… gorgeous hair… chiselled jaw. Damn that bastard!"

Elle's fists slammed against the vanity, she hated to admit that she found him attractive, but at least that was all she had to admit about him. Well, that and she felt that he needed a swift kick to the groin or a chastity belt just so she could feel safe being near him. Or a strait jacket…

Try as she might, she was not in any mood to laugh, no matter how amusing she found picturing Mias trapped and helpless, like he had been making her feel. She wanted to have that one brief moment of joy, but every time that she tried to smile, she remembered where she was and why. The shame of letting Mias get to her was also incredibly embarrassing and was sitting on her shoulders. Groaning pathetically at herself, Elle lowered her head to the vanity and draped her arms lazily over herself.

With eyes closed tight, Elle could only think of home. There really wasn't much to think about; lackluster job, flat above a stuffy pub, and the flat itself in serious need of a good paint and new or at least more furniture. It had only been approximately twenty-four hours, but it was depressing how hard she had to try to think of someone who would actually notice she was missing in the next twenty-four hours.

It was a terrifying and utterly discouraging thing to realise how long that it would take for someone to take any noticeable interest in her absence. The thought that she may never been found or even missed and stuck with Mias for the rest of her life –however long that may be- hit her like a brick wall.

Mias' laughter had long faded off and she assumed his presence as well, so she chose to take advantage of the opportunity, and let herself cry.

Never having completely left, Mias stood with his hand pressed against the wall adjacent to the guest suit's washroom in the hall. His head was lowered in lax contemplation as he listened to Elle, rather than watching her as he had already become so fond of doing.

He had to admit, though, that at the moment he could not even tolerate listening to her. Usually the sound of a person crying, no matter the circumstances, meant nothing to him, but it made him quite uncomfortable to hear Elle.

"Curious."

What he found more curious, why she was upset or his interest, was unclear to him. What he was quite sure of was that his interest in Elle's problem was purely for his own benefit, he hated her tears and pathetic sobs. He had seen the anger and the hatred, even vague appreciation, and now the tears, now he wanted was to see her smile; that would be an agreeable change. Perhaps the tears had meant that he had not won, and maybe he wasn't even close. He let out a frustrated groan and slapped his hand against the wall.

As if she was able to hear him, he heard her sniff to compose herself. He looked up, concentrating his strength, and they caught each other's eye, or they would have, had she been able to see him. She looked so lost, and even more deeply disturbed than when she had first realised that she had been kidnapped by him. Staring blankly, eyes stained with tears, Elle cursed under her breath, as if chastising herself for doing something wrong. He grimaced, turning away.

"Elle… How you vex me..."

Mias headed down the hall toward his study. Perhaps some time to himself and his work would help clear his head of all of this nonsense so he could figure things out with Elle. He was nowhere near giving up on her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The strange sounds had startled Elle from her self pity, and she stared at the wall feeling lost. Was there really nothing for her anywhere? Would she have ever even noticed if none of this had happened to her? It was all Mias' fault.
"Mias."
Mias had plucked her from her life and all she knew. She had been perfectly content with that life and everything about it, now all she could think about was how miserable it was. And this was compared to being a kidnapped prisoner. Ignorance had certainly been bliss, and Mias had taken that away from her.
Sauntering out of the washroom, and back across the bedroom toward the comfort of the bed, Elle clung to herself against the cold breeze. The room was now dimly lit with gas lamps, giving it a cozy and almost romantic feel. She could not help but find it a little bit disturbing how comfortable she felt at that moment. Another cold breeze assaulted her bare skin and she shook, the soothing feeling blew away.
Elle groaned, she could not stand how it constantly felt that her thoughts and feelings were being tampered with. She closed the balcony doors against the invading cold, but continued to stare out into the immense and mysterious darkness. Her head rested against the glass, the chill easing the discomfort from her earlier head injury.
The outside looked absolutely terrifying at night. It was so dark, lit only by a sliver of the moon and the colourful streaks in the sky that she had been admiring earlier. The nearby garden was dimly lit from light escaping out from uncovered windows below, many of the flowers tightly closed, waiting for the sun to come up again. The vast fields barely showed their intense green in the straining moonlight, and glowed very delicately. The woods at the edge of the manner were shrouded entirely in darkness, a pitch black streak that reflected absolutely no light. Her breath stuck as she thought of trying to run through such a frightening and unfamiliar darkness. But it still looked like freedom.
Elle touched her hand to the glass in an expression of longing before closing the curtains on the view and her train of thought. Now was not the time.
Settling comfortably into bed happened faster than she thought it would, especially considering sleeping was really the only thing that she had done the entire day. How could she possibly still be tired? She could not answer that, all she knew was that she had had enough of that day. Eyelids heavy, she rolled onto her side, back to the balcony, and curled her knees up before falling asleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Good morning, Elle."

She merely groaned back a reply and grabbed at a nearby unused pillow to cover her head from the intruding light and presence of Mias. She was in no mood for his nonsense, rolling to face her back to him.

"Elle… Aren't you happy to see me?"

She laughed, "That is an incredibly stupid question."

She felt the mattress shift as Mias planted weight on the edge of it, chuckling in his usual way. Whether or not he was sitting or just leaning with a hand, she could not tell. She hoped that he was sitting, just so she could kick him off onto his pompous ass.

"Come now, my pet." She felt his hand on her knee, slowly sliding upward to her hip. "Don't be that way."

His thumb massaging small circles into her hip sent a chill up her spine, and she tried to kick her leg to gesture that she did not want to be touched.

"Mias, yo-"

The mattress shifted again, more violently this time, making her toss and flop onto her back. She was still hugging the pillow to her face, even more tightly now, as she could feel the heat of Mias all around her. Not feeling the sheets pinning her down, she knew that they must have been pushed away while she was tossing in her sleep. She was not sure whether or not she was happy about that.

One of Mias' hands gripped at the far edge of the pillow, and they had a small battle of tug-o-war before he managed to get it away from her and toss it half way across the room. He looked triumphant, and she just glared at his face, which was entirely too close to her own.

"Leave me alone!"

He smiled and cupped her cheek with one hand, making her breath catch in her throat and a single heavy flutter echo in her stomach. He was staring at her with such intensity in his eyes, she was unable to move or look away. Elle could not help but stare at his lips, curled into that grin that made her so angry. She tried to feel angry, but it seemed to be struggling to bubble to the surface.

"G-get off… of me."

"Never."

Elle made a muffled sound of surprise as Mias crashed his lips hard against hers. She squirmed at first, but his free hand was now tucked under her, fingers gently stroking at her back, which arched slightly at the pleasant feeling. His actions were similar to the way they had been before, but this time he was not holding back, and this time they were having a far greater effect on her. She could tell by the way his lips assaulted her neck, and his hands wandered across her back and legs, that he was not going to give up so easily.

She made small sounds of protest at his feverish kisses, trying her best to fight the twisting in her gut and the pounding in her chest. He gave her lips a swift kiss before returning to her neck and what chest he could reach, and Elle was almost surprised by the tenderness of it.

As his one hand continued to caress her back, the other slid slowly up her bare side then up and across her stomach until his hungry fingers curled around something a little more meaty. Elle grunted her indignation at his firm grip on her breast, but before she could prepare herself for another painful -yet necessary- head-butt, Mias made his attack.

Soft lips surrounded by teeth dug firmly into just the right spot in the crook of her neck. A powerful tremor shook through Elle's body, and her lips parted, letting out a pleasurable moan. And mouth open, Mias' hungry mouth took hers again with renewed fervour. Their tongues touched and Elle hated herself. He tasted heavenly!

Eyes rolling into the back of her head, she let out another moan into his mouth, and felt his lips curl into a smile. His hands were everywhere, stroking every inch, and it felt so good! Her own hands reached up and grabbed at his cloak and shirt, pulling him down against her.

"Elle."

Mias licked at her jawline and teased at her skin with gentle nibbles that made her insides scream. She swore she felt the button on her trousers pop loose, but was distracted by the toe-curling attention her flesh was receiving. He moaned himself right next to her ear, and a hand slip painfully slow up her inner thigh.

"Mias…!"

Mias raised himself to gaze down at her with a look in his eyes that made her twist in anticipation. He was grinning so broadly now, she thought his face would crack from the tension. Slowly lowering himself, he placed kisses lower and lower down her stomach until he reached the top of her trousers and looked up at her with a dark look in his eyes.

"I'm going to enjoy this."

"Aaa…--AHHH!!!"

Elle shot up in bed, screaming and swatting frantically all about her, but she was completely alone under the covers. She was drenched in sweat and her heart was pounding steadily against her chest, but everything seemed to be where it should. Hugging her legs, she put her head down on her knees and let out a slightly exaggerated sigh of relief.

"Oh, thank-"

"Pleasant dreams, my pet?"
